As a mum to three amazing kids, life in our household is always busy. So having a fast, simple, and delicious cake hack ready to go is a lifesaver. Today I’m sharing one of the easiest party cake ideas ever: the Kit Kat Lolly Cake Hack.
It’s delicious. It’s fun. And it’s so incredibly easy.
How to Make a Kit Kat Lolly Cake
The first time I made this Kit Kat Lolly Cake was for my partner Beau’s birthday. The kids even helped, and from start to finish it took about 10 minutes. It’s the perfect cake for little helpers and makes celebrations even more fun.
When we dug in, everyone agreed it tasted amazing.
You only need a few inexpensive and easy-to-find ingredients:
- Mud cake
- Nutella
- Fun-size Kit Kats
- Ribbon in any colour
- Your favourite lollies
And a couple of basic kitchen supplies:
- A large plate or serving platter
- A spatula, icing spreader, or knife
Here are the quick and easy steps:
- Remove the grease-proof layer from the cake and transfer it to your plate or platter.
- Spread Nutella around the sides of the cake.
- Press the Kit Kats around the cake edge and secure with a ribbon.
- Fill the top with your favourite lollies.
Variations
When we made this cake for Beau, we tied it with a blue ribbon and filled the top with Maltesers, Freckles, and Mini M&Ms.
One of the best things about this cake hack is how easy it is to customise for any party theme.
You can:
- Swap Nutella for coloured frosting
- Use a homemade or boxed cake mix instead of a premade mud cake
