Both versions include three A4 pages: a grown-up’s setup and hiding guide, six cut-out clue cards and a “Boo! You did it!” finish sign. No email signup needed.
The low-ink version has white backgrounds and outline pictures, with a small colour logo. You can also select greyscale in your printer settings.

What you’ll need
- A printer and A4 paper
- Scissors for a grown-up to cut out the cards
- A shoe, sofa, book, towel, pillow and table
- A little surprise for the finish, such as stickers or an age-appropriate treat
How to set up your Halloween treasure hunt
- Print your chosen version. Use actual size or 100% in your printer settings. Cut out the six clue cards on page two.
- Choose your hiding spots. Use places your child can easily reach, with no climbing or opening appliances.
- Hide the cards using the grown-up’s guide. Keep card one to hand to your child. Hide card two beside a shoe, card three on the sofa, card four inside a book, card five beside a towel and card six under a pillow.
- Set up the finish. Put the surprise and the finish sign on your chosen table.
- Start exploring! Hand over card one, read the rhymes aloud and follow the pictures together.
Keep the hunt indoors and supervised. Choose surprises suitable for your child and check any food allergies.
Make it work for your little monsters
For younger children, leave a corner of each card showing and help them match the pictures to the hiding spots. For a group, let everyone work together and take turns spotting the next clue.
If a hiding spot doesn’t suit your home, leave that clue out and connect the remaining cards in order. Read through the shortened route before you start so every clue leads to the next one.
