Katie J Design and Events is a Small Business which I Opened in 2014. It is 100% Australian Owned, Made & Operated.

We are proud to have Australia's Biggest & Best range of Personalised Party Decorations & Supplies, with over 300 Party themes to choose from in our Online store. We are located near Brisbane in Queensland and ship Australia wide with Express Post.

At Katie J Design and Events, we have a small team of staff who work hard behind the scenes to design, print and package all of our personalised products. We strive to exceed customer expectations and have worked hard to produce fun eye catching party decorations using high quality raw materials.

Our products are available separately as well as in discounted packs which makes them perfect for celebrations of all sizes and budgets. It is that love and attention to detail that we put into each and every one of our products that makes our party decorations the best!

About Me

I am Katie, mum of three amazing and energetic children, and business owner of Katie J Design and Events. I have loved parties and entertaining since I was young. The joy, laughter & smiles created celebrating with friends are some of my favourite memories growing up.

After High School I completed my Double Diploma of Events & Hospitality Management with 2 distinctions & 6 credits. I had some Fantastic experiences working at Movie World and with Sheraton Hotels and eventually as a Functions Coordinator at the local Entertainment venue coordinating Weddings, Birthdays, Community events and Conferences.

In 2007 I had the first of 3 children, my son, Donte. It was then that I discovered my love of kids parties and creating extravagant, fun celebrations for my children. Isla was born in 2011 and by than I was spending months pre-planning and hand making all of the decorations and favours for their parties.

I received so many compliments and requests from friends, family and party guests to help plan their own parties that I started a social media page and eBay store and began sharing my hobby with others. With a computer & small printer I started to replicate the creations that I had made for my own kids parties, but for customers this time.

From Little Things, Big Things Grow

And so, Katie J Design and Events was born!

I designed and hand cut all of the orders that we received and my kids loved helping to pack orders and watch our little business grow. Before we knew it, our small corner office was taking over our home and in 2015 we upgraded not only our house and office, but also our printer to a top of the range Large Format Printer Cutter.

As we expanded, so did my family and in 2016 I had my youngest daughter, Paige, whom completed my tribe! Katie J Design and Events now has its own Studio Office on our leafy property. My kids still play a vital role in the business working casually after school packing orders, accepting deliveries and cleaning.

That is what sets us apart is the love that goes into each and every design and product that we make. We know that families are time and budget conscience but we all like to spoil our loved ones on their special day. This is where we can help.

Awards, Qualifications & Media Features

Over the past few years, Katie J Design and Events has continued to grow, innovate and be recognised across Australia. In 2023/24 we were honoured with two national awards for Best Kids Party Planner/Stylist at the What’s On 4 Kids National Awards. Winning both the People’s Choice and Judged categories was an incredible moment that celebrated our commitment to creating memorable celebrations for families.

In 2022 I completed a Diploma in Marketing Management, strengthening my skills in digital marketing, branding and customer experience.

Innovation, Technology & Creative Growth

Over the past few years, I’ve become deeply passionate about innovation and technology.

What started with personalised party banners has grown into a journey of learning, experimentation and creative development.

In 2022, I began a major transformation project with Customily, converting hundreds of products into dynamic, customisable designs. The process was not fast, it took over two and a half years of dedicated work, research and problem solving. That determination led to something special: world-first AI generated party banners, where customers can personalise their backdrop with their own photo, style and theme.

Since then, I’ve added kiss-cut stickers, print-on-demand products, and custom apparel, giving families even more fun ways to personalise their celebrations.

I have attended many inspiring AI, tech, creative and e-commerce events, including being invited to the iMedia B2B eCommerce Summit on the Gold Coast. These experiences have given me new skills, fresh ideas, and a stronger network to help shape the future of what I’m building at Katie J Design and Events.
