Welcome to Parties by Katie J, where unforgettable celebrations come to life. As Paige's Mum and the proud owner of Katie J Design and Events, I am excited to share the bright and creative Art Birthday Party we threw for Paige’s 7th birthday.
This guide takes you through all the colourful details of our art themed celebration, from easy art party decorations to creative birthday treats and fun activities. If you are planning an art birthday party for your little artist, you will find plenty of ideas and inspiration here.

Transforming the Space into an Artistic Haven
Our Art Birthday Party began with the perfect base. A white marquee from the team at Aladdin's Party Hire instantly set the scene. Whether you are hosting at home or in a local park, a marquee gives you an open, flexible space to decorate.
I decorated the marquee with bright paint splotch stickers and stretchy colourful chair sashes to bring the art theme to life. The white background made every colour pop, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere for the kids.

White trestle tables underneath the marquee became the main art stations. The clean white setup allowed the colourful art supplies to shine, making the whole space feel like a creative studio ready for little artists to get started.

The Artistic Tablescape
The kids' tables were styled with white tablecloths, balloon trees, custom banners, and posters to match the art theme. The colourful chair sashes added a fun touch. Parents had their own seating area nearby to relax with a cup of tea or coffee while keeping an eye on the creative chaos.

Each place setting became its own mini art studio. The kids received Puffy Clay in bright colours, small canvases with easels, and scratch art bookmarks. Paintbrushes scattered across the table completed the artistic look and made everything feel hands on and exciting.

Palette of Painted Treats
The main food table was a rainbow of colour. Paige’s Rainbow Crayons Birthday Cake was the centrepiece and one of our easiest cake hacks ever. With simple steps, it turns into a show stopping art themed cake.

We also made LCM bar paintbrushes by dipping the ends into colourful icing. Our Paint Palette Iced Biscuits were another easy favourite. Rainbow cupcakes added even more colour to the table and matched the fun art theme perfectly.

Personalised Party Favours
Our Party Favours Table was filled with colourful customised goodies. From Personalised Party Bags to themed Chocolate Bars and Lollipops, every child took home something fun and memorable. Bubble wands displayed in recycled Milo tins decorated as paint cans were a cute touch that fit the theme perfectly.

The party bags included custom labelled Play Doh, lollipops, a slap band, and a fidget toy. Each one tied perfectly into the creative art theme and gave the kids plenty to enjoy later at home.

Unleashing Creativity Through Play
Our activities were all about hands on fun. The kids enjoyed Puffy Clay, mini canvas painting with easels, and scratch art bookmarks. These activities were simple to set up but kept the kids busy, focused, and inspired for ages.

The Art Pinata was another huge hit. Made from a cardboard box using our easy tutorial, it burst with rainbow cellophane streamers, adding a moment of pure excitement.
