Are you looking for some Tips for Amazing Party Favours and Loot Bags? Here are answers to common questions.
What Should You Include in Your Loot Bags?
My best piece of advice about collecting items for Loot Bags is to keep it simple. There is no need to include elaborate or expensive Party Favours for your guests. After all, it’s the thought that counts!
Match Loot Bag Ideas to Your Party Theme
It’s so Easy to come up with Loot Bag Ideas if you base them on your Party Theme. For example, if your Celebration has a Floral Theme, guests could take home succulents or seeds they can plant.
This photograph shows a Nerf Themed Party with Favours Including Fun Sunglasses, Nerf Guns, and Darts.
At a Mermaid Party, fill Loot Bags with Mermaid Necklaces, Seashell Bath Bombs, and Pastel Lip Glosses. This Photo is also a great example of how Matching Theme Colours is another Easy way to Put together Loot Bags.
Choose Age-Appropriate Favours
When you’re thinking of ideas for Party Favours, make sure they are Age-Appropriate.
These Personalised Barnyard Animal Party Treat Bags are full of Favours that Little Kids Love. You can see a Kid-Friendly Card Game, Fun-Sized Sunglasses, an Animal Eraser, and some Candy.
Teens are more likely to Love Cosmetics, Jewelry, or Keychains. These Favours for a 12th Birthday Party with a Poop Theme are just Clever enough for Pre-Teens! There are Emoji Squishies, Poo Bath Bombs, Key Chains, and Milky Way Candies. So Funny!
For Adults, Favours can be a little more Mature, like Personalised Wine Bottles, Beer Bottles, or Alcoholic Shots. Here’s a great example of Baby Shower Wine Bottle Favours.
Include Favours Perfect for All Ages
Some Party Favours are great for Guests of All Ages. You might want to consider including a few of these in your Loot Bags:
- Mini Chocolates with Personalised Chocolate Wrappers
- Personalised Tic Tacs
- Squishees and Fidgets
- Candies and Other Sweet Treats
If you need to add “bulk” to your Party Bags, throw in a small bag of Chips, Popcorn, or Biscuits to please Guests of Any Age!
Create Make-and-Take Activities
You can send Guests Home with Activities they can Complete after the Party is over, or have them make something at the Party and take it home as their Favour!
This idea works really well with any Arts and Crafts Activity. At a Superhero party, guests might Create their own Masks or Capes. Then they can take them home and continue to fight supervillians!
You can also send home Activities that Kids can Play Later. I think these Panda Themed Treat Bags and Favours are just Adorable, and I Love that they included some Balloons for the Little Guests to Enjoy after the Party!
Try These Easy, DIY Ideas for Loot Bags
Sometimes a little DIY is all you need for an Amazing Party Favour.
Our Round Stickers are Perfect for Creating Personalised Biscuits for your Guests. Simply place round, iced sugar biscuits in plastic wrappers and peel and stick a personalised, themed round label on the top.

Another Favour that is Fun for Kids is DIY Colouring Books. You can see some that I printed on A4 paper on this Favour Table for a Shimmer and Shine Themed Birthday Party.
How Can You Present Your Party Favours?
There are some Fun and Creative Ways you can Present Favours at a Party or Celebration.
Displaying Favours on a Central Party Table is a Popular Option. You can line up Loot Bags filled with Favours for guests to take home. One of the benefits of this Idea is that Personalised, Themed Loot Bags will help add to your Decorations!
Here’s an example of a Beautiful Mermaid Party Favour Table with Loot Bags and Wrapped Chocolates that match the Banner and Bunting. A few seashells made for the Perfect finishing touch!
I also Love how these Shot Glass Party Favours are Arranged on a Rustic, Wooden Display Table for this Engagement Party. These Favours look Elegant and are easy for the Guests to see and Take!
This Teddy Bear Picnic Favour Display Table is so Creative and Adorable! The Personalised Bubble Wands and Chocolates are in Baskets, and the Lollipops have been Placed in the Lids of boxes so the Little Guests can See Them. The Gingham Bows add the perfect accent.
When Should You Gift Loot Bags to Party Guests?
I almost always save Loot Bags for the end of a Party or Celebration. If you give them out too early, young guests might lose their Favours or be so distracted by them that they miss Party Activities and Games.
Of course, if you suddenly find that you need some extra Entertainment for Toddlers or other Guests, you can always let kids have their Loot Bags a little early so they have some toys to play with.
Adults are much better at waiting for the end of a Party to get their Favours. Handing them out as each Guest leaves also gives you the Opportunity to Personally Thank Each One.
