Our Baby’s Gender Reveal Party
On the 26th February 2016 we had a ‘Guns or Glitter?’ Gender Reveal Party to Announce the Sex of Our Youngest Child. We chose a ‘Guns or Glitter?’ Party Theme and it was Perfect for Our Occasion. I am Crazy about Glitter & Sparkly things and my Partner is very much a ‘Boys Boy’ & Gun Enthusiast.
Our Gender Reveal Party was a Small Intimate Celebration which we shared with Our Immediate Family. Like us, they were Super Excited to find out the Baby’s Gender.
We only played one Game at Our Gender Reveal Party and it was called ‘Waddle Baby Be?’ There really was so much excitement on the night, that I don’t think anyone could have handled anymore. Beau & I had only just found out ourselves at the Gender Scan and it was killing us not being able to tell everyone the news until the Big Reveal.
The idea of the Game is for Guests to Guess the Sex of the Baby. Ask Everyone to Write their Name in the Column of their Guess – Guns or Glitter? Donte & Isla loved collecting everyone’s guesses as they were bursting at the seams themselves, anticipating whether they were going to have a Little Brother or a Sister. I have included a FREE Printable Template for you to Print at Home and use at your Own Gender Reveal Party. It was a Fun Keepsake which I have Scrap booked in Our Baby Album to enjoy in years to come.
I had so much Fun making the Party Food for Our Guns or Glitter? Gender Reveal Party. It was Very Simple and there was No Baking requiring on my behalf which is always a plus for me. Fortunately it was coming up to Easter so Hot Cross Buns were in Store which I iced with Pink & Blue Icing. They were labelled – ‘Pink Buns or Blue Buns’. There were Cupcakes with Place Cards saying ‘Cupcake or Stud Muffin?’. And my Favourite Party Food on the day was 2 Bowls of M & M’s, which were titled ‘Nuts or No Nuts’! A Very Clever Idea I found over at ‘My Healthy Chef’. How Cute are the Matching Place Cards from my Store, Katie J Design & Events and whilst shopping I was also lucky enough to come across Pink & Blue Pringles, which had become a Popular Craving throughout my pregnancy.
Gender Reveal Layered Cake
Our Gender Reveal Cake was Super Easy to Make. Thankfully as I only had an hour to make the Cake once we found out the Baby’s Gender at the Scan. I brought 4 Round Sponges from the Supermarket and placed a Sponge on the Cake Plate as the Base. I used Betty Crocker Vanilla Frosting to Coat the Sponge and added the Next Sponge Layer. Once I had 3 Sponges layered on top of each other, I used a Sharp knife to cut a circle in the middle of the Sponges and discarded the excess. The Circular centre of the Cakes were than filled with Choc Rocks in the coinciding Gender Colour. I had brought Pink & Blue Choc Rocks earlier that day in anticipation.
To finish the Cake I gave it another layer of Frosting and added the Final Sponge Layer, which was decorated with Pink, Blue & White Sugar Stars. If you’re the baking type, check out the ‘Suprise on the Inside Gender Reveal Cake’ on Betty Crocker’s Website – Click Here.
Our Gender Reveal – Guns or Glitter?
After 4 months of Anticipating whether we would have a Boy or Girl – Beau & I had our 4D Gender Scan booked at Precious Previews to meet Our Gorgeous Cherub for the First time. It was one of those mushy moments and we both teared up when we heard the News! And then we had to suck up all those emotions and get in the car and finish off the last minute preparations for the party – and make that cake! It was such an Exciting night and we couldn’t wait to share the news with everyone we loved!
It’s a Girl!
We are having a Little Princess and could not be happier! It was an agonising hour trying to kip our lips sealed we were so excited to tell everyone the news but had to wait until every body was present to make the announcement. When it was time Beau & I held hands and cut the slice of cake together to announce the Special News. Pink Choc Rocks spilled out and the Kids faces exploded with Excitement. There was tears & smiles as we watched the video from our 4D Scan and everyone got to see Our Little Girl for the First time. A moment I will cherish forever.
