How to Throw a Toy Blaster Themed Party

Thinking about throwing an extra special toy blaster-themed party for your little one? It can be tricky getting all the elements to come together in time for the big day, especially when you’re hosting a themed party. Here’s a guide to nailing a Toy Blaster party that the kids will remember for years to come.

Toy Blaster Themed Party: The Basics

Hosting a toy blaster-themed party may seem a little intimidating at first. But remember: all you need is a backyard, some supplies, and lots of creativity! Here, I’ll share some fun and easy ideas for an amazing toy blaster party.

The most important thing you’ll need is a pretend battleground where the kids can run around and play. You can use any type of plastic toy gun, such as toy blasters, laser guns, or water guns. Finally, a colour scheme will help tie everything together and make the day feel extra special. I’d also recommend collaborating with a few adults who can help supervise the event and keep everything running smoothly.

Donte's NERF Gun Themed 11th Birthday Party

If you’re thinking about throwing a toy blaster-themed party for your little one’s birthday, here’s an example of how we created decorations, Games, and snacks for Donte’s 11th birthday party.

This party definitely has to be one of the most fun and memorable we’ve ever hosted! The party boy and his friends had a blast running around with their toy blasters and getting muddy.

Toy Blaster Party Area & Decorations

Donte chose blue & orange as the colours for his Toy Blaster Party area due to his love of Nerf Guns. So, all of the Tablecloths, Skirting, Napkins & Plates were coordinated in these colours. All of the party decorations and supplies were from Katie J Design and Events.

I made the centrepieces from coffee jars by wrapping them in blue wrapping paper and adding a picture of a toy blaster. They were then filled with shredded black cellophane and completed with an oval picture reading “Donte’s 11th Birthday Party,” which was inserted into the jar using skewers.

Toy Blaster Party Food

The Toy Blaster themed party food was super easy and the kids loved the quirky names I gave to all of the food. Here are some ideas of what to make:

Fun NERF Birthday Cake

The birthday cake was awesome and so easy to make. Ice a plain chocolate sponge and create a border from fun size Kit Kats and secure with a satin ribbon bow. Decorate with blue, orange and yellow M & M's to create a target. Insert a wooden skewer into a NERF Bullet and position on the cake.

Toy Blaster Party Bag Table & Gifts for the Guests

Each of the party kids who attended got a NERF Gun, Bullets, Safety Glasses, a Camo Hat, Personalised Chocolate and a Party Bag. The Party Bag was small and included a Tattoo, Dog Tags (Necklace), Camo Party Whistle, Army Rubber Bracelet, an LCM bar, a Lollipop and a packet of chips. The kids loved taking a few treats home with them at the end of the day, so it will definitely earn you some extra points!

NERF Party Games

My partner set up the backyard for Donte's party and had lots of fun creating a Toy Blaster Battle area for the boys to play in. We used pellets with shredded camo material to create bunkers and hide-outs for the boys during combat. They played 'Capture the Flag'; which involved being split into 2 teams and trying to find all of their team's red or blue flags without being shot by the other team.

We also had Target Shooting Competitions where the boys had to shoot foam targets off a ladder and also into cups which had been nailed into a pellet.

I got some awesome shots of the boys in action but due to privacy I can't share them on our page. Thankfully, I got the party boy to mock-up some shots for me the morning of the 'Big Day'.
