Easy No-Bake Number Cake with Lollies | Fun Birthday Cake Hack

Here’s another one of my favourite fast, fun and completely no-bake cake hacks. This time I made a colourful Number 7 Cake for Isla’s 7th birthday, and it was the perfect treat to take into her Brisbane school classroom and share with her friends.

Because it was for school, I wanted something easy to transport, mess-free, and quick to put together. A No-Bake Cake Hack ticked every box. No baking. No cutting. No wasted cake. Just assemble, decorate and done.

This number birthday cake is made using premade muffin bars and turns out bright, fun and surprisingly pretty. If you need a birthday cake idea that you can whip up in minutes, this one is a winner.

Ingredients You’ll Need for This No-Bake Number Cake

You only need a handful of easy-to-find ingredients:

I didn’t bake a thing. Everything came straight from the supermarket which is exactly why this is such a great no-bake hack for busy parents.

How to Assemble Your Number Cake (No Baking Required)

This whole cake took around 15 minutes from start to finish.

1. Prepare a simple cake board
I wrapped a piece of sturdy cardboard in foil to create a clean cake base. It looked polished and made for easy transport to school.

2. Arrange the muffin bars into a number
We made a Number 7 for Isla. I simply lined up the muffin bars until the shape looked right. You can create any number the same way. Curvier numbers like 8 or 3 may need bars cut in half to fit.

3. Colour and frost the cake
I tinted the frosting pink and spread it thickly over the bars so they were fully covered and smooth.

4. Add the musk stick edging
I snapped musk sticks slightly taller than the cake and pressed them around the border. It made the number shape stand out and added texture.

5. Top with lollies
Then the fun part. I covered the entire top with colourful Party Mix Lollies. You could also use chocolates, fruit or themed treats.

Isla loved it, her class loved it, and best of all it was stress-free to make and transport.

Fun Variations and Custom Ideas

This number cake is endlessly customisable:

  • Use any frosting colour to match your theme
  • Swap musk sticks for KitKats, wafers or chocolate fingers
  • Top with fresh fruit, sprinkles, cookies or themed edible toppers
  • Create any number from 1 to 21+ (great for milestone birthdays)

If you try this hack, I’d love to see what number and colour scheme you make.
