Create the Ultimate DIY Glow Space for your Party

To set the perfect ambiance for Isla's Glow Party, we knew we had to start by creating a dark area where the glow effects would really shine. So, we transformed our carport into a magical space by hanging black plastic film on the walls and ceiling. This simple yet effective technique instantly created a mysterious and enchanting atmosphere.

Of course, we didn't want our guests to feel suffocated in the dark, so we made sure to prioritise ventilation. We placed a portable air conditioner in one corner of the area to keep the space cool and comfortable. To allow for proper airflow, we cut a small hole in the black plastic for the airconditioner's exhaust pipe. This ensured that our guests could enjoy the party without feeling too confined.

Now that we had the dark space sorted, it was time to bring on the glow! To achieve that mesmerising glow in the dark effect, we strategically positioned UV blacklights around the room. These lights emit a special type of ultraviolet light that causes certain materials to fluoresce, creating a captivating glow. We placed smaller UV blacklight wands on the tables to enhance the glow of any decorations or props. And to really make an impact, we set up a larger UV blacklight in one corner, bathing the entire area in an otherworldly glow.

The combination of the dark space and the UV blacklights created an atmosphere that was truly out of this world. As soon as our guests stepped into the space, they were transported into a magical realm where everything seemed to come alive in vibrant hues. It was a truly unforgettable experience that left everyone in awe.

So if you're planning your own glow party, don't forget the importance of creating a dark space for those glow effects to really shine. With some black plastic film, strategic positioning of UV blacklights, and a little bit of creativity, you can transform any area into a magical glowing party paradise.

Create an Amazing Glow in the Dark Balloon Ceiling

Looking to add a touch of magic to your next party? Than make your own DIY Glow in the Dark Balloon Ceiling! I last created this Amazing Balloon Ceiling at Paige's Unicorn Birthday a couple of years ago and couldn't wait to try it again, it was a showstopper. With 200 Glow in the Dark balloons filled with helium from Helium 2 Go, the room was transformed into an amazing neon wonderland. The white ribbon balloon strings added a beautiful touch, making the balloons appear as if they were floating in mid-air.

Once all the balloons were blown up and ready to go, we carefully arranged them in the room. The vibrant glow emitted by the balloons created an ethereal ambiance that had everyone in awe. To add an extra touch of elegance, we curled the balloon ribbons and trimmed any long ends. The result was a stunning display that had everyone talking.

One thing to keep in mind when working with helium balloons is that they are more likely to pop in warm weather. If you're concerned about this, it's a good idea to store the balloons in another room prior to the party. This will help ensure that they stay intact until it's time to showcase your masterpiece.

And of course, safety should always be a priority. When blowing up the balloons yourself, make sure to wear safety glasses. This will protect your eyes from any potential accidents and allow you to enjoy the process without worry.

Hanging your Party Banners to Set the Scene

One of the most important elements of any party decor is the banner. It's like the centerpiece of the entire event, setting the tone and theme for the festivities. But how do you hang a party banner in a way that looks professional and stays put throughout the night? Well, let me share with you a few tips and tricks that we used at our recent neon glow party.

First things first, we had a Fun Personalised Large Neon Glow Party Banner that we wanted to showcase above her Cake table. We followed the tips from our handy banner guide which helped us position it perfectly and made sure it was front and center, where everyone could see it as soon as they walked into the room.

To add an extra touch of pizzazz, we decided to create a DIY balloon arch to frame the banner. Helium cannot be used for the Balloons in a Balloon Arch, and a balloon pump can be quite time consuming and laborious. Instead, we opted for an air compressor. This made the job much faster and allowed us to focus on other party preparations.

But we didn't stop there. We wanted to make sure every corner of the room was decorated, so we hung small party banners on the side walls. To do this, we used blu-tak, it held the banners securely in place without leaving any residue behind. Additionally, we had customised flag bunting that we strung inbetween the corners of the room using Fishing line ensuring that it couldn't be seen by our guests.

Easy and Delicious Glow in the Dark Party Treats

At Isla's party, we went all out to create an atmosphere that was truly mesmerising. The room was transformed with black plastic tablecloths and vibrant glow in the dark bunting. It was a sight to behold!

One of the highlights of the setup was the main table, dedicated to cake and treats. At the center, we had a magnificent cupcake tower of Coles Pre-Made Cupcakes, adorned with neon wrappers and toppers. These glowing creations were a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, not to mention, so easy to prepare and display!

But the fun didn't stop there. We also made easy-to-make iced biscuits, decorated with 100's and 1000's rainbow sprinkles. The neon glow in the dark theme continued with white marshmallows and milk bottle lollies that literally lit up the room.

To add a personal touch, we labeled mini Mentos packets with our very own Personalised Neon Glow Rectangle Stickers. It was a fun and creative way to make our treats stand out even more. And let's not forget about the table itself - it was sprinkled with swirly lollipops and chocolate bars, all adorned with custom labels. Glow in the dark stones made a fun alternative to confetti, and lit up any dark areas remaining on the table.

Our neon glow in the dark party treats and food were a hit among our guests. The combination of vibrant colors, delicious flavors, and glowing elements created an unforgettable experience. There was even an Esky fully of Mini Waters decorated with our Personalised Neon Glow Party Rectangle Stickers.

Fun Neon Party Activites and Games

When it comes to throwing a party for tweens, it's all about creating an atmosphere of fun and excitement. That's why we went all out with the neon party activities and glow in the dark party games at Isla's birthday bash. We had not just one, but two party tables filled with all sorts of goodies to keep the girls entertained throughout the night.

The first table was a treasure trove of neon delights. There were glow in the dark temporary tattoos, face paint and brushes, and mega bubble wands with custom labels. The kids couldn't wait to get their hands on these glowing treasures. They spent hours decorating their bodies with funky tattoos, painting each other's faces with vibrant colors, and creating gigantic bubbles that seemed to shimmer in the darkness.

But the fun didn't stop there. The second table was a haven of LED accessories and glow-in-the-dark wonders. There were LED glasses that lit up in different colors, LED cat headbands that made the kids look like funky felines, and an array of glow sticks, necklaces, and butterfly hair clips that added an extra touch of magic to their outfits. And let's not forget about the glow in the dark friendship bracelets and rings that the kids exchanged as tokens of their friendship.

Isla and her friends had an absolute blast at the party. They were transformed into glowing creatures of the night, dancing to the upbeat music and snapping countless selfies to capture the memories of this unforgettable night. The energy was infectious, as laughter and giggles filled the air. It was a neon extravaganza that brought out the inner child in all of us.
