Beautiful DIY Minnie Mouse Birthday Party Ideas & Photos

When my daughter Isla turned two, her Minnie Mouse Themed Birthday Party was the perfect way to celebrate the day! I think Minnie Mouse is an Adorable theme for any little girl, and for Isla there were a lot of fun Decorations, Treats, and Games that went right along with Minnie’s Pink Bow.

It was years ago when Isla, my Biggest Princess, had her 2nd birthday. It was also before I started my Party Business, so most of the Decorations I made myself at home.

But if you know my Party Style, you know that I do a lot of DIY for every party, even the really recent ones. I hope you can find some inspiration for your own Minnie Mouse Themed Birthday Party from my ideas and photos.

Minnie Mouse Party Area & Setup

We celebrated Isla’s Minnie Mouse Birthday Party in our garage. It might seem like an unconventional space, but I had a lot of ideas for completely Transforming it. Plus, we could begin the setup a week before the party and had a large undercover area for guests.

Since our theme was Minnie Mouse, we chose shades of Pink as the central colour, and added some complementary Purple and Red as well. We used these colours for the Table Cloths, Balloons, Banners, and Drapes on the walls.

Most of the Banners I made myself using Printable templates that I found online. I learnt how to make Balloon trees which made Beautiful Centrepieces on the day. My Mum even made the Beautiful Pink & Purple Patch Blanket from Satin to cover the oil stains on our Garage floor and so the kids had somewhere nice to play games on the day.

You can see in the photos how the Space became a Cute Minnie Party Area for a little girl’s birthday party. We called it Isla’s Club House!

Minnie Mouse Decor & Party Bags

I love Personalised Details on Treats and Party Bags. For Isla’s Minnie Mouse Themed Birthday Party, I used Printable Templates and Stickers to customise the Favours her guests could take home.

The favours included Party Blowers, Lollipops, Bubbles, Reusable Cups, and Chocolate Bars, all with Minnie and her Friends on them. The treat bags all had Minnie or Mickey cutouts with a Personalised Thank You message.

I even made Gorgeous Minnie & Mickie Plates. All I needed were Pink & Red Plastic Plates that I attached Black Card Circles to with my hot glue gun.

Minnie Mouse Party Food

The Party Food at Isla's Minnie Mouse Themed Birthday Party was mostly sweets, but we also had a BBQ for Lunch.

A lot of these Delicious Treats have become Party Favourites that I use again and again, because they are Adaptable for lots of Themes and Colours.

For Isla’s party, there were Minnie Mouse Cupcakes, Chocolate Spoons, Mini Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttons inserted for ears, and Minnie Sticks. I made the Minni Sticks by inserting Lollipop sticks into an Oreo biscuit, poking 2 Milk Chocolate Buttons into the Oreos and dipping them completely in Chocolate. They were super popular!

Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake

Isla's Minnie Mouse Themed Birthday cake was super easy to make, but was Delicious and Fun!

I layered two Round Chocolate Sponges with Frosting in between. Then I frosted the Entire cake with Betty Crocker Vanilla Frosting. You can make this as simple or homemade as you want, with baking Cakes from scratch or even buying a premade Round Cake!

The Decorations are how I Personalised the Cake for the Minnie Mouse theme and Isla’s 2nd Birthday. I piped a Pink Frosting border around the bottom edge and carefully placed Smarties on top to create a Number 2 and the Minnie Mouse ears.

And of course Minnie Mouse ears made an Appearance on both me and Isla for the picture below!

Minnie Mouse Pinata

I made a Gorgeous Minnie Mouse Pinata for Isla's Birthday from Cardboard boxes and Crepe. It took a couple of days to make, but was definitely worth the time spent making it. You can see in the pictures below the Cute Details, like Isla’s name in Disney font and the giant Bow.

I love pinatas, because they’re a fun game for all ages. But if you don’t want to spend days making one, you might like the method I developed for an Easy DIY Kids Party Pinata.
